On The Move - LIFT Festival - Royal Court Theatre

'On The Move' (LIFT Festival): Part of the LIFT Festival and responding to one of the greatest humanitarian issues of our time, this collection of new works features artists from Germany, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Syria and the UK as they uncover the stories of people forced to leave their homes. The 'On the Move' programme includes: three installation artworks titled 'Limbo of the White Sea' (by Maya Zbib and the Zoukak Theatre Company from Lebanon), 'As Far As My Fingertips Take Me (by Tania el Khoury in collaboration with Basel Zaraa from Lebanon) and 'Al Hayat' (by Manaf Halbouni from Syria-Germany); an evening discussion under 'Hello Stranger' (to be chaired by LIFT patron Juliet Stevenson looking into how refugees are welcomed into the UK); the film 'Haunted' (by Liwaa Yazji from Syria-Lebanon); a double-bill of two plays titled 'The Crossings Plays' (by Andreas Flourakis and Fausto Paravidino from Greece-Italy), a promenade audio piece called 'Another Place' (by Victoria Lupton and Doha Hassan from UK-Palestine-Syria); and, finally, a durational piece titled 'The Milk of Human Kindness' (by Chris Thorpe from the UK). All of these will take place between 9-11 June, 2016 at the Royal Court Theatre, Sloane Square, London SW1W 8AS​.
